To get the most value from CoCounsel Conversations, we recommend being as specific as possible. Broad prompts often yield generic responses that may lack the depth, accuracy, or preferred format you need. To get precise and actionable insights, clearly state:
- What information you want.
- How detailed the response should be.
- Any necessary context or limitations.
Best practices
- Set clear parameters. For example, "List 5 key considerations for tax nexus."
- Break down the request. For example, "Compare the tax treatment under GAAP versus IRS rules."
- Provide context. For example, "Focus only on tax deductions for tech companies."
Less effective prompt
: "Tell me about corporate tax deductions."
Better prompt:
"List 10 corporate tax deductions under the IRS code, categorize them by type (for example, operating, capital expenditure, employee benefits), and provide one-sentence descriptions for each. Use @Research Library for reference. Return in a table format and include citations for all aspects."
