Judge Braswell co-founded the Judicial AI Consortium (JAIC), a judge-led community of more than 400 judges sharing practical knowledge and experiences with AI across jurisdictions. She also curates a newsletter for judges offering timely developments, real-world examples, and practical guidance on AI, and she is regularly invited to speak at judicial conferences and educational forums about AI’s impact on society, the legal profession, and the judiciary. She teaches Reimagining Justice at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, a course exploring how emerging technologies and human-centered design can be used to rethink the delivery of justice.

Her perspective is shaped by a diverse set of experiences. Before law school, Judge Braswell worked with underserved communities, where she learned the importance of taking a human-centered approach to problem-solving. Then, as a litigator and strategist, she  became immersed in complex litigation and high-stakes disputes. She eventually co-founded a tech-forward litigation firm, where she and her clients saw firsthand how thoughtfully deployed technology can enhance legal work.

Judge Braswell later joined the leadership team of the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, where she led one of its largest divisions and oversaw hundreds of matters with statewide impact. That experience deepened her interest in institutional change: how organizations build capacity, adopt new tools responsibly, and create systems that can sustain innovation over time.

Her leadership and community contributions have been recognized throughout her career, including being named one of Colorado’s Top 25 Most Powerful Women and receiving recognition from the Denver Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 and Latino Leaders Magazine.

Judge Braswell believes that AI will change the work of lawyers and judges without diminishing the importance of human judgment. Her work explores how courts and legal institutions can take advantage of emerging technology while preserving the qualities that justice ultimately depends upon: judgment, accountability, fairness, and trust.
